This lovely 5-string open back from the Barnes & Mullins / Abbott stable dates back to the 1920s and sounds glorious.
This instrument features the classic Abbott head shape & decoration with the quality finish associated with better examples from the Abbott workshop and these details would date it from the 1920’s.
It features an 11” new calf vellum head and 3” deep beech hoop with new ebony wedges to stock the neck.
The ebony fingerboard is in great condition and the 22 hook, shoe and nut sets look original and in excellent condition.
The non-original geared tuners are an excellent addition for tuning stability / functionality.
Includes a plush lined high quality hard case.
