This 15-year-old Classic Series '50s Tele has been well used in it's time with the scars to prove it (see photos) but it feels, looks and sounds great! The original single ply white pickguard has been replaced by a lovely 3-ply black one which (in my opinion) looks much nicer if a little less true to the original '50s aesthetics.

Here is what Fender said...

'Fender's Classic Series 50s Telecaster brings together the classic 50s style Telecaster with Fenders modern build quality and components. Constructed from an ash wood body with a maple neck and fingerboard, the 50s Telecaster produces the classic 'twang' sound, with bright characteristics that have a strong punch in the midrange. Few electric guitars shaped more styles of music in the '50s and '60s than the Telecaster, from James Burton to the Beatles, the Telecaster was at the heart of popular music. Featuring two single-coil Alnico pickups, a vintage Tele bridge and knurled chrome knobs, the Classic series Telecaster delivers vintage Fender sounds with the reliability that will keep you playing for years.'
